DAY 01: KOCHI – MUNNAR
Arrival transfer to Munnar. Rest of the day is free for your leisure at the resort. Munnar: - breathtakingly beautiful – a heaven of peace and tranquility – the idyllic tourist destination in God’s own country. Munnar is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams – Mudrapuzha, Nallathani & Kundala.
DAY 02: MUNNAR
After the breakfast proceed for sightseeing at Munnar. You can visit Eravikulam National Park, Mattupatty Dam, Kundala ake, Echo Point, Devikulam and Pothamedu View Point. Eravikulam National Park: – The 97 sq. km. park is situated in the Devikulam taluk and is home to the Nilgiri Tahr.
Mattupetti Dam: – The Mattupetti Lake & dam, is a very beautiful picnic spot.
Kundala Lake:- Kundala is a picturesque town on the way to Top Station. The Golf Course which belongs to Tata Tea Ltd. is located here. The Kundala artificial dam is another attraction.
Echo Point: - This scenic place gets its name from the natural echo phenomenon here. Echo point is on the way to Top Station from Munnar.
Devikulam: - This Idyllic hill station with its velvet lawns, exotic flora and fauna and the cool mountain air is a rare experience. In the evening return back to hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 03: THEKKADY
After the breakfast proceed to Thekkady. Up-on arrival check in to the hotel. After noon you can visit the Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary and the spice market of Kumily Town. Overnight stay at the resort. Thekkady: – The very sound of Thekkady conjures up images of elephants, unending chains of hills and spice scented plantations. In the Periyarforest of Thekkady is one of the finest wildlife reserves in India and spread across the entire district are picturesque plantations and hill towns that hold great opportunities for treks and mountain walks.
DAY 04: ALLEPPEY
After the breakfast proceed to Alleppey to board your house boat. Houseboat - Kettuvalloms or Houseboats (Riceboats) are country boats that were used in the early days for the transport of goods from the isolated interior villages to the towns. With the advent of roads, bridges and ferry services, gradually the kettuvalloms went off the scene. Now these kettuvalloms are back again as a major tourist attraction. A house boat is about 67 to 95 feet in length and has a width of around 13 feet to in the middle. The materials that go into the making are all local and Eco friendly bamboo poles, coconut fiber ropes, bamboo mats, coir carpets etc. The main wood used is “Anjili”. The house boats have fully furnished single double triple and five bedrooms with sundeck, private balcony with comfortable chairs, kitchen and toilet with WC. In addition there is also separate rest room. Each houseboat has a three member crew – a chef, a captain & a steward. The cuisine is traditional Kerala flavor with the local specialties; delicious local fish. There are single bedroom houseboats for two people and two bedroom houseboats for four people. and 3 bedroom houseboat for 6 , and 5 bedroom houseboat for 10 People. Overnight at Houseboat.
DAY 05: KOVALAM
After the breakfast proceed to Kovalam. Enroute visit to Sreekrishnapuram Palace. Up on arrival check in to the hotel at Kovalam. Kovalam:one of India’s internationally renowned beaches, in the God’s own country, Kerala. A favorite haunt of Europeans since the 1930s, Kovalam consists of three successive crescent beaches. Kovalam, a sheltered natural bay, the azure blue waters and the sumptuous spread of green palm groves make it a tropical paradise of sorts. Sun bathing, Swimming, Ayurvedic Rejuvenation, Yoga and meditation, Herbal body toning massages, Special Cultural Programmers, Catamaran cruising; the possibilities are many. The Kovalam lighthouse beach is where most visitors spend their time. Trivandrum sightseeing includes Sri. Padmanabha Swamy temple and Horse shoe palace. Evening explore the beach. Dinner and overnight stay. In the evening explore the Kovalam beach. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 06: KOVALAM
After breakfast go for sightseeing trip to Trivandrum City. Visit Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Horse Shoe Palace, Napier Museum and Veli Lagoon.You can relax at the Kovalam beach in the evening. Trivandrum, the capital city of God’s own country. It is situated on the southern tip of Malabar coast in Peninsular India. ‘Thiru-anantha-puram’ means the town of the sacred snake-god Ananthan. Trivandrum is the southern most district of the 14 districts in Kerala. It stretches along the shores of the Arabian sea for a distance of 78 kms and an area of 2192 sq kms. Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple: The temple is located inside the East Fort. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the temple is a blend of Kerala and Dravidian styles of architecture. it is known for its mural painting sand stone carvings, one among the 108 sacred Vishnu temples in India, the presiding deity in here is Lord Vishnu recling on Anantha the Serpent. The temple must see spot and also is the cause of the city’s name. Horse Shoe Palace: The Museum Complex located in the heart of the Trivandrum city has everything for its visitors who reach here for tourism, study or research.
DAY 07: KOVALAM – TRIVANDRUM AIRPORT
After breakfast from the resort, transfer to Trivandrum Airport / Railway Station for your return journey. |
